Amprius Discusses The All-New Amprius 500 Wh/kg Battery Platform with KCBS Radio

Our COO, Jon Bornstein sat down with KCBS Radio, the top morning radio show based out of San Francisco to discuss the impact of the 500 Wh/kg battery platform and what it could mean for the electrification of mobility.
Here’s an Idea: Amprius’ Electric Aircraft Battery Energy Density Breakthrough

Amprius Technologies has achieved a new battery energy density breakthrough of 500 Wh/kg with its Li-ion cell, the Silicon Anode Platform. Mobile Power Solutions, an independent testing house, verified the Silicon Anode Platform’s energy density performance.
Aviation, the Unlikely Road to Long-range EVs

Amprius eyes drones and air taxis for lightweight battery breakthroughs. Of all the elements in the periodic table, silicon has the highest capacity for combining with lithium. It can hold 10 times as many lithium ions than the graphite anodes common in today’s lithium-ion batteries. Several carmakers and battery startups are looking at silicon anodes for the next generation of long-range, lightweight EV batteries.
BREAKING NEWS: Amprius Creates a 500Wh/kg Battery

Sandy and Antonio run the (staggering) numbers on the all-new Amprius battery.
This light, energy-dense battery just got independently verified

Amprius Technologies (NYSE: AMPX) today announced that its high-energy, high-power lithium-ion battery with a silicon anode platform has been verified by an independent test lab. The 500 Wh/kg, 1300 Wh/L battery’s performance was verified by Beaverton, Oregon-based Mobile Power Solutions, which checks compliance, safety, and performance. Its cell model reportedly provides >504 Wh/kg and >1321 Wh/l at 25C.
Amprius Sets New Bar For Battery Energy Density
Amprius Technologies has introduced a 500 Wh/kg, silicon-anode, lithium-ion battery, initially for use on solar-powered, high-altitude platform stations including the Airbus Zephyr. The energy density achieved is up to twice that provided by commercially available graphite-anode lithium-ion…
Falling Lithium Prices Are Making Electric Cars More Affordable
An unexpected decline in the price of an essential battery material, along with those of other commodities, is good news for buyers. But experts disagree on how long low prices will last.
Polis Administration Announces Amprius Technologies Inc. Chooses Brighton, Colorado for New Gigawatt-Scale Lithium-Ion Factory
Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) formally announced today that Amprius Technologies, Inc. has signed a letter of intent for a 775,000 square foot facility in Brighton, Colorado. Amprius plans to establish a gigawatt scale factory to support lithium-ion battery production for the U.S. electric mobility market.
Powerful Battery Cell Nails Military Safety Test – Innovation Nation
A new battery cell could help give soldiers the power they need to run their equipment on the go — without the risk of it exploding if the battery is ever hit.
U.S. Car Makers’ EV Plans Hinge on Made-in-America Batteries
Federal incentives are helping expand domestic battery production. Here’s what the manufacturing process looks like.
